We have a Covid-19 policy in place that is in line with government guidance. The policy is available on request should you wish to see a copy.
Health and Safety is taken very seriously and there are a number of policies and procedures in place to support this which can be made available on request. Recognising that as part of our learning experience learners will be, encouraged to make independent decisions, take appropriate risks and develop a level of self-responsibility in the outdoor environment that can translate into their wider life, we also complete daily risk assessments. First Aid boxes are available on site as is a Qualified First Aider. More about our policies and legislation can be found on our Policies and Insurance page.
We are Associated with the Forest School Association and key pieces of legislation that apply to us include the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), The Children’s Act (1989) and The Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice: 0-25 years (2014). We have a wide range of policies and procedures in place and these can be made available on request.
Yes. Our Forest School Lead is fully qualified having completed the Level 3 Forest School Leader course. Our Forest School Lead also provides training to our Staff Volunteers to ensure they are fully aware of their responsibilities when working in this type of environment. All of our staff are DBS checked and qualified in paediatric first aid.

Please note, there may be times when sessions have to be cancelled due to factors outside our control. As a small independent company all sessions are pre-booked and pre-paid and we will be unable to offer refunds in these circumstances.
Our appropriate clothing policy details the essentials needed for a forest school session. Please see the checklist here. Appropriate clothing is of the upmost importance and Back2Basics reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone dressed inappropriately.
